Staff Testimonials

Name: Rachel Nolan

Position: Conference & Banqueting Manager

"In November 2020, I proudly joined the Talbot Collection Group as Conference & Banqueting Manager, at the Talbot Hotel, Wexford. Working in the hospitality sector is an enjoyable, challenging and satisfying career and I really enjoy it, and returning back to my hometown, Wexford to become part of ‘Team Talbot’ was very special indeed. Being involved in the organisation and management of private functions such as Weddings, Conferences and Dinner Parties here at the Talbot is as much about the people as it is about the food. Growing up, I remember many a fond time spent at the hotel with my family and being looked after by all the warm friendly staff over the years. As the staff have always been the heart of the Talbot, to this day everyone is still very passionate about their job.

I really enjoy managing the banqueting team and working closely with the Sales Department, Chefs and fellow Managers, ensuring we meet every detail required to deliver a friendly professional smooth service on the day, for all our clients. It’s very rewarding to know we have done a good job. I would encourage anyone considering a career in the hotel industry to consider joining the Talbot Collection. Not only are they a great company to work for, there are many perks too; like discounted hotel rates across the group for all your Staycations with family and friends, pension and life assurance schemes, opportunities for career progression, excellent training, social clubs and if you’re a coffee lover like me, all the coffee you can drink for €1 per cup.

Unfortunately the pandemic brought a huge challenge to the hotel, resulting in restrictions and having to close the doors on three occasions in the last twelve months, but I very much look forward to returning and welcoming you all back and in due time catering for all your Special Occasions again."

"My name is Ann I’m working in the Gallery (coffee dock). I like to make nice coffee and looking after each customer to make sure that they enjoy their visit. I like to work in the Talbot hotel because of its friendly atmosphere, it became to me like a family. I have been working here for 15 years. Working in hospitality : great service, friendly and comfortable atmosphere, looking after each customer needs.

The best feeling at work is when the customers are happy. Any day at work is good because you get new experiences and learn something new every day. I would recommend working here because the management and the staff are very friendly ,very warm and there is a welcoming atmosphere which I think is very important. Each and every person in the hotel is important and works hard.

I felt valued and appreciated when I received the Employee Of The Year award. I am very proud and happy working in the Talbot hotel!"
