Located in Ballyedmond, Gorey Co. Wexford just over a 20 minute drive from the Hotel and waiting to be explored is Wells House & Gardens, a Great Victorian House and Gardens in the heart of Wexford. Wells House has something for all generations to enjoy and share with their Woodland Walks, Victorian Terrace Gardens, Adventure Playground, Living Victorian House Tour, Wells House Archery, Wells House Falconry, The Oak Tree Restaurant, and Craft Courtyard. Come to wander and explore all this historic estate has to offer and witness how the house and Arboretum, Lake, and Ha Ha’s are further restored for future generations.
On their day at Kia Ora Mini Farm, the children can hold and feed a variety of live pet animals such as rabbits, poultry, sheep, pot bellied pigs – Bella and Babe, Charlie the Donkey, Jack and Jill the alpacas, Larry the llama, Posh and Becks the black swans, Eddie & Betty the emus, Geoffrey the Macaw, Jessie and Belle our friendly dogs amongst many others. Their shed has a fantastic selection of birds and animals and is indoors so no matter what the weather is like you can come and have fun and see all the cute little animals in the barn such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs mice & Rats! They also have a really cool tractor area where the younger children can trundle about and even do a bit of digging in our special digging pit! For the slightly older kids we have a special racing track to race our rough riders on and it is all enclosed so they can race without fear of bumping into anyone small. They can also race to milk our milking cow.

The Visitor Experience provides a unique insight into a period of history which shaped modern day Ireland and America. You will, first of all, view a 9 minute audio-visual presentation which gives the historic background to the Great Famine, and the reason why so many people were forced to emigrate on sailing ships like Dunbrody to America in the mid 19th century. You will see fascinating footage of the building of the replica Dunbrody, the emotional day of her launching, and also her Maiden Voyage in 2005.
The Kennedy Homestead, the birthplace of President John F. Kennedy’s great-grandfather Patrick Kennedy, celebrates the story of five generations of the Kennedy dynasty and is still today farmed by his descendants. The Kennedy Homestead, a unique cultural museum is dedicated to “the Kennedys who went away and the Kennedys who stayed behind” and plays a vital part in the continued preservation of the Kennedy legacy in Ireland.
